¡¡¡¡The Xijiang main channel connecting Nanning to Guangzhou, running alongside the Yangtze River is honoured as the two great east-west waterways in China's advanced navigation channel.
¡¡¡¡The Pinglu Canal will connect the Xijiang's channel to three ports to the north of Guangxi, and together with Xijiang's main channel and other main inland waterways, it will connect to the main coastal ports in south China forming a comprehensive river-to-sea and water-land transshipment network.Guangxi will also carry out the overall development programme of water transport by connecting Xijiang main channel to the economic ports of northern gulf in Guangxi in the next five years.
