¡¡¡¡COSCO launches Tianjin-Yantai-Shanghai feeder container line ¡¡¡¡COSCO has launched a feeder container shipping line connecting northern and eastern China's ports of Tianjin, Yantai and Shanghai . ¡¡¡¡The weekly service will be connected to COSCO's ocean shipping lines to Europe and America at Shanghai. The maiden voyage vessel loaded 86 TEU at Yantai. ¡¡¡¡The launch of the line is expected to relieve the space shortage pressure at Yantai caused by the suspension of COSCO's service to US west coast. ¡¡¡¡The average vessel capacity of the 18 ships is 8,000 TEU. ¡¡¡¡CMA CGM and CSCL launch new service ¡¡¡¡China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) and shipping giant CMA CGM have joined hands for the launch of a new container service connecting Northern Europe with China and Malaysia. ¡¡¡¡Port calls include Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Nansha and Port Kelang, from where the service will proceed directly to Zeebrugge and Hamburg. It will then return to Shanghai via Rotterdam. ¡¡¡¡The low number of ports of call on the rotation makes it possible for the ships to have a fuel-saving cruising speed with a round-trip time of 56 days.
¡¡¡¡Hanjin Shipping launches Korea-Japan dedicated feeder service ¡¡¡¡Aug. 14th, Hanjin Shipping has announced that it is launching a dedicated feeder service between Korea and Japan starting from Aug. 24th, 2008. ¡¡¡¡KJS (Korea-Japan Service) is a dedicated feeder service in which one 400 TEU vessel will rotate between Busan-Tokyo-Osaka-Busan once a week. ¡¡¡¡The main purpose of this service includes promoting sales within Asia and reducing vessel operation time while transshipping the Japanese local cargo to Europe and the U.S. ¡¡¡¡Meanwhile, Hanjin Shipping plans on expanding its feeder network along with the existing services in Persia, Singapore, Bangladesh and North China.
