¡¡¡¡In 2009, sea-rail combined transport in Xiamen Port has continued to maintain rapid growth for five consecutive months against the economic crisis. As of the end of May, transport had completed operations of 4,709 TEUs, a 55.57% y-o-y increase.
¡¡¡¡Over recent years, Xiamen Port has opened sea-rail transport services to Fujian, Jiangxi, Nanchang and other places, with operations now covering hinterland areas in Jiangxi Province and even the old industrial bases in Northeast China. The purely domestic sea-rail transport is also developing towards both domestic and foreign trade streams.
¡¡¡¡In the midst of the financial crisis, to implement the State strategy of expanding domestic demand, Xiamen Port has launched several programs: introducing supportive policies, constructing inland ports, enhancing cooperation with ports and railways in Jiangxi Province and start Xiamen-Nanchang "five-fixed" scheduled freight services.
